Four Castlewood, Aberdeen players receive honors in state amateur baseball tourney

State amateur baseball all-tourney players include Castlewood's Gus Steiger & Alex Gauer, and Aberdeen's Kelly Coates and Josh Steinwandt.

BRANDON — Four players from the Castlewood Ravens (Class B) and Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar (Class A) have been named to the 2025 South Dakota Amateur Baseball all-tournament team.

The tourney concluded recently in Brandon.

Class B honorees include Gus Steiger and Alex Gauer of the Castlewood Ravens, who advanced to the semifinals before falling. Steiger was the Class B batting champion in the tourney.

Class A honorees include Kelly Coates and Josh Steinwandt of Aberdeen.

Class B

  • Parkston Devil Rays — Seth Muth, Tanner Dyk, Carter Sommer, Class B MVP Jake Helleloid and Phil Johnson.
  • Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks — Cam Quigley, Joe Hanisch and Blake Svoboda.
  • Alexandria Angels — Alex Ferrin and Michael Schoettmer.
  • Platte Killer Tomatoes — Grant Doom and Preston Nedved.

  • Kimball-White Lake Nationals — Jaxon Christensen and Mitch Price.
  • Dell Rapids Mudcats — Caden Alfson and Ty Hoglund.
  • Canova Gang — "Big" Jared Miller and Justin Miller.
  • Freeman Blacksox — Bailey Sage and Jackson Fiegen.

Class A

  • Harrisburg Woodies — Class A MVP Tyler Mitzel, Dalton Lehnen, Kris Regas and Jack Sutton.
  • Renner Monarchs — Eric Brothers, Class A batting champion Tony Lanier and Jeremiah Mauch.
  • Yankton Lakers — Lucas Kampshoff, Shugo Kondo and Will Rauch.
  • Brookings Cubs — Noah Buss, Arlen Peters and Chase McDaniel.
  • Tea Steam — Trey Heckenlaible and Austin Reiter.
