WINSTON-SALEM – Wake Forest lost two of its interior offensive line transfers this month.

Jacob Dennison left the team for personal reasons, coach Jake Dickert said on Monday afternoon at his weekly press conference.

“I’m going to really leave it at that,” Dickert said. “But we’re going to move forward as a team from here.”

Earlier this month, Rodrick Tialavea left Wake Forest — also with the designation that it was for personal reasons. He started fall camp working with the first-team offense as a guard. Tialavea was one of several transfers that came from Washington State.

Dennison came to Wake Forest from Ohio, where he spent three seasons. He started 10 games last season for the Bobcats, who won 11 games and the MAC championship. Dennison spent the first two seasons of his career with Jacksonville State.

All of those starts last season were at right tackle but indications throughout fall camp were that Dennison would be moved around and fill a versatile role for the Deacons. He played both guard and tackle positions, often with the first- or second-team units.

On Wake’s depth chart, four of five starting offensive linemen have significant experience — left tackle Melvin Siani, center Devin Kylany, right guard George Sell and right tackle Fa’alili Fa’amoe. The starter at left guard will be redshirt freshman Clinton Richard, one of the emerging talents left from Wake’s previous staff.

Behind the starting unit, though, the only player with significant college experience is Ja’Marion Kennedy. He’s a transfer from Louisiana Tech, where he played 348 snaps (mostly at right guard) last season, per Pro Football Focus.
