The odds currently sit at NCSU -12.5 for the opener, and the over/under is 60.5. SP+ projects NC State to win by 15 points, 37-22. That’s encouraging, but still, we’re all going to be scared shitless until proven otherwise.
If CJ Bailey and the offense really do take a step forward, then the Pack should have a good chance to cover—and a fairly decisive win fueled by good offense would be the most encouraging outcome for this week, I think. If State does that, then it’ll look like a team that can beat expectations. If it’s more of the same from last fall, well, we can’t go throwing in the towel out of the gate, but it’ll be difficult to ignore the implications.
