The line at BetMGM is still heavily in favor of Ole Miss winnings its 2025 season opener but the spread shifted closer to the Panthers.
The 2025 college football season started this past weekend but No. 21 Ole Miss is still five days away from kicking things off against Georgia State.
With game week officially here the odds start coming into focus a little more and for the Rebels game against the Panthers the spread continues to shrink, slightly.
As of Monday BetMGM has Ole Miss as the 37.5-point favorite for Saturday’s opener. The spread moved another point towards Georgia State after opening up earlier this Summer at 39.5.
The Rebels are still heavy favorites but bettors are moving a little money towards the Panthers way it seems. ESPN’s matchup predictor still gives Ole Miss a 94.4 percent chance to come away with the victory on Saturday.
BetMGM still only lists the Southeastern Conference games against LSU and Georgia for the Rebels. The Tigers are remaining a 1.5-point favorite for the September 27 clash in Oxford after opening as the 1.5-point underdog in the Summer. Georgia is still a 10.5-point favorite for its October 18 showdown in Athens.
“I’m sure like a lot of people this time of year there’s a lot of injuries and guys having to go with different groups and things so that’s frustrating at times, but also good for those guys to get an opportunity and hopefully make the most of them,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said last Monday. “Got a lot of work to do with under two weeks to go and I’m very pleased with some things but there’s other things that we’ve got a long ways to go.”
The Rebels wrapped up its Fall camp with a mock game this past Saturday and have completely shifted into game-week mode.
Ole Miss and Georgia State will kickoff on August 30 at 6:45 p.m. CT on SEC Network
