Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will have no restrictions in the 2025 EuroBasket Tournament, Greek National Team head coach Vassillis Spanoulis said, per Harris Stavrou of SPORT24.

This will be Antetokounmpo’s third time participating in the EuroBasket Tournament, as he also did in 2015, and 2022. In 6 games in 2022, Antetokounmpo averaged 29.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, while also earning top scorer honors, and being selected to the All-Tournament Team.

In a preparation game on Aug. 20, Antetokounmpo finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 104-86 win over team Latvia.

Antetokounmpo is still being heavily discussed in trade rumors from the Milwaukee Bucks

The EuroBasket Tournament comes at a bit of a crossroads for Antetkoumpo. The nine-time All-Star has still not made it clear whether or not he wishes to remain in Milwaukee with the Bucks, or request a trade prior to this upcoming NBA season. It has been reported previously that the situation may become more clear once Antetokounmpo concludes his run with the Greek National Team this summer.

In the meantime, the Bucks will remain hopeful that Antetokounmpo not only stays healthy during the EuroBasket Tournament, but also finds it in his heart to stay in Milwaukee upon its end. The Bucks have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in three consecutive seasons, and now find their roster in a strange state, especially after waiving Damian Lillard. Any hope of contention next season will depend upon the 30-year-old’s decision.
