K.C. made a move to get stronger.

The Kansas City Chiefs got in on the fun of making a trade before the NFL’s roster cutdown day on Tuesday.

They called up the New York Jets and got an old friend to come back to town.

The Chiefs acquired Derek Nnadi on Sunday in a deal with the Jets, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. A 2027 draft pick goes the other way in return.

Nnadi should be familiar to Chiefs fans. He has three Super Bowl rings from his previous stint in Kansas City.

The defensive tackle was a third-round pick of the Chiefs in 2018 out of Florida State. Not a bad time to come to Kansas City, as Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs’ growth into a dynasty.

Nnadi played in 115 games with the Chiefs from 2018 through 2024.

In that time, Nnadi recorded 233 tackles and 5.0 sacks.

He had only left the Chiefs this offseason to sign with the Jets, but he’ll never suit up for New York in the regular season.

Instead, Nnadi comes back to the only NFL regular season uniform he has ever known.

He became expendable to the Jets when they made two trades for defensive tackles within the last week. The highlight of those trades was getting the veteran Harrison Phillips to join Quinnen Williams on the interior of the defense.

Nnadi will get to reunite with Chris Jones and company in Kansas City.

Hopefully, Nnadi didn’t sell his house in K.C. yet, because he’ll be needing it.

And now he can be a part of trying to avenge the tough Super Bowl loss to the Eagles in February.
