Bills Wire's final 53-man roster projection for the Buffalo Bills after the preseason.
With the 2025 NFL preseason behind us, it's time for the regular season.
But first the Buffalo Bills and all 32 teams in the league have to trim their rosters down to 53 players from around the current 90 teams have.
Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane have a lot of work ahead of them and we're going to make some guesses of our own now.
Quarterback (2)
Josh Allen, Mitchell Trubisky
Straight forward here. The Bills will try to get Mike White back on the practice squad.
Running back (4)
James Cook, Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, Reggie GIlliam
Offensive coordinator Joe Brady likes him some Johnson in the passing game and the top two are set. Gilliam at fullback.
Wide receiver (6)
Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Curtis Samuel, Elijah Moore, Tyrell Shavers
Samuel would cost $3 million on the salary cap to cut so despite not taking part in the preseason, he sticks around. Shavers certainly earned himself a job with his work this summer as well.
Tight end (3)
Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid, Jackson Hawes
With Hawes being a fifth-round rookie draft pick, he rounds out this group.
Offensive line (9)
Dion Dawkins, David Edwards, Connor McGovern, O'Cyrus Torrence, Spencer Brown, Alec Anderson, Tylan Grable, Chase Lundt, Ryan Van Demark
The Bills clearly like Grable this summer and Buffalo loves versatility on the O-line otherwise. Lundt and Van Demark bring that.
Defensive line (10)
Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, DeWayne Carter, Deone Walker, T.J. Sanders, Greg Rousseau, Joey Bosa, AJ Epenesa, Landon Jackson, Javon Solomon
With Michael Hoecht and Larrry Ogunjobi suspended for six games, the defensive line is straight forward. But those games will be auditions for some to keep their roster spots once they return.
Linebacker (5)
Terrel Bernard, Matt Milano, Dorian Williams, Shaq Thompson, Joe Andreessen
2024 fifth-round pick Edefuan Ulofoshio could take Thompson's spot as a past special teamer for the Bills. Thompson has gotten more snaps on defense ahead of Ulofoshio, though. Ulofoshio could easily be taken on waivers if cut.
Cornerback (7)
Christian Benford, Tre'Davious White, Ja'Marcus Ingram, Dorian Strong, Taron Johnson, Cam Lewis, Dane Jackson
There is so much uncertainty with White (lower body) and Hairston (knee) because of their injuries. This position group could be all over the place.
Safety (4)
Taylor Rapp, Cole Bishop, Damar Hamlin, Jordan Hancock
Bishop had a solid preseason finale and should start alongside Rapp. The position is still a concern. Lewis can provide depth here as well.
Special teams (3)
Tyler Bass (K), Brad Robbins (P), Reid Ferguson (LS)
