The Cleveland Browns must scout these five Los Angeles Rams players to help ensure a victory in their 2025 preseason finale.
It’s almost time for the Cleveland Browns’ final preseason test before the 2025 regular season. The team is expected to treat this game as a dress rehearsal for Week 1 and will most likely play their starters for one to two series. This also means the opposing Los Angeles Rams will most likely do the same.
Along with the first-team defense, Browns fans are expected to see the Rams’ first-string offense, with the exception of injured quarterback Matthew Stafford. After the dress rehearsal portion of the game is over, some of the Rams’ preseason standouts will try to hand Cleveland its first loss. The team will have to defend against talented players like Nate Valcarcel, Brennan Presley, and former Georgia Bulldog quarterback Stetson Bennett IV.
Like the Browns, the Rams are also undefeated and feeling good about their preseason results thus far. They’ve gone 2-0 in some hard-fought matchups that relied on their depth players. They’re currently averaging 28.0 points per game with Stetson Bennett IV at the helm for all eight quarters of football. Overall, the team has exceeded expectations with no plans of slowing down in Cleveland.
If they want to have an undefeated preseason, the Browns will have to do their research on these five Los Angeles Rams players:
DB Cam Lampkin
Some of the Browns’ preseason standout wide receivers will have to face defensive back Cam Lampkin. In preseason Week 1, Lampkin was one of the NFL’s most impressive defensive backs with an 88.2 coverage grade. The next week, his coverage grade plummeted to 49.6 over 37 snaps. After such an up-and-down performance, he’ll want to impress against the Browns.
Wide receivers Gage Lavadain and Kaden Davis will be first up against the Rams corner. Also in a fight for a 53-man roster spot, these two have easily been the Browns’ most impressive wide receivers of the preseason thus far. Both will need to be sharp against Lampkin, who will be determined to show that his Week 1 performance was not a fluke.
QB Stetson Bennett IV
The heart of the Rams’ preseason offense has been quarterback Stetson Bennett IV. Through two full preseason games, Bennett has collected 512 passing yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. After missing his entire rookie year due to personal reasons, the Rams are clearly trying to get him up to speed quickly by letting him make highlight plays in these games.
It’s expected that the Rams’ offense will once again feature Bennett for all four quarters of the game. There’s a very slim chance we see either Matthew Stafford or Jimmy Garoppolo for a short time, but not enough to affect the outcome of the Browns’ final preseason game. We’ll see if they’re able to slow down Bennett and the rolling Rams’ offense.
LT KT Leveston
There’s no question one of the Rams’ most standout players this preseason has been left tackle KT Leveston. Last week against the Los Angeles Chargers, Leveston posted an insanely impressive 89.8 overall PFF grade on his 30 snaps played. Factoring into this was his 93.6 run-blocking grade, which is rated as “elite” on the PFF scale.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski have some tough decisions to make on the defensive line. The room is stocked with talent, and some players who are very deserving of a 53-man roster spot may not get it. They’ve already traded defensive tackle Jowonn Briggs for draft capital due to a full defensive line room. Some of the Browns’ depth players will get a chance to test their skills against a talented KT Leveston, which could earn them a roster spot if they perform well.
LB Shaun Dolac
Linebacker Shaun Dolac has been very impressive through two preseason games and will look to continue that trend against the Browns on Saturday. Last week, Dolac had a team-leading seven total tackles in 37 snaps. This earned him an 80.7 PFF grade and gave him another reason to make the 53-man roster. It’s also another reason why he’ll be motivated to showcase his talents once again to Rams head coach Sean McVay.
Dolac will be a key target for the Browns’ offense, which will focus on the rushing attack against Los Angeles. Cleveland is in the middle of an RB3 battle that will come down to either Pierre Strong Jr. or Ahmani Marshall. Both running backs have flashed their talents, but ultimately it will come down to one or the other. We’ll see how offensive coordinator Tommy Rees game-plans around the Rams’ standout linebacker to ensure a successful run game.
RB Jarquez Hunter
Throughout the first two preseason games, the Rams’ rushing attack has gone through running back Jarquez Hunter, and it’s expected to continue. He’s led the team with 26 carries this preseason for a total of 96 yards on the ground and zero touchdowns. One thing he’s done noticeably well in these two games is pass block, which was displayed against the Los Angeles Chargers with a 78.6 PFF pass-blocking grade.
As the starting running back for the Rams in the first two preseason games, Hunter has had every opportunity to earn regular-season reps in 2025. Unfortunately for him, he is still behind starting running back Kyron Williams and highly touted backup Blake Corum on the depth chart. We’ll see if a solid performance against a talented Browns defensive line will be enough to earn him playing time throughout 2025.
