Eagles' 53-man roster projection: Who's in, who's out after preseason finale vs. Jets

The Eagles are 15 days from opening up the regular season at home against the Dallas Cowboys. With most of the roster set, Philadelphia played one final preseason game at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets on Friday night.

This is a deep and talented roster that has added more depth. After watching 12 players depart in free agency, Eagles' GM Howie Roseman added two dynamic SEC linebackers, an All-American pass rusher, three offensive linemen, and an accomplished quarterback from Philadelphia.

The defense has undergone an overhaul after defensive tackle Milton Williams (New England), Josh Sweat (Arizona), cornerback Darius Slay (Pittsburgh), cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (Minnesota), and linebacker Oren Burks (Cincinnati) all departed via free agency.

The 53-man roster deadline in the NFL is Tuesday, August 27, at 4 p.m. ET. This is the date and time by which all 32 NFL teams must reduce their active rosters to 53 players.

Philadelphia has a loaded roster with few holes or opportunities to steal a starting spot or carve out a key role on offense or defense. That opportunity to steal a roster spot got even more difficult after the Eagles traded for John Metchie.
