Like every year, the Big Ten Network concluded its training camp tour in Ann Arbor, where network personalities Dave Revsine, Howard Griffith and Jake Butt met with Michigan football players and coaches to recap fall camp and preview the upcoming football season.

Head coach Sherrone Moore, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale were all interviewed — as every Big Ten head coach and coordinator has been throughout the entirety of the tour — and all three coaches had great things to say about the Maize and Blue heading into the 2025 season.
Aside from the coaches, though, the Big Ten Network interviewed a select few players, including star true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. As the top-ranked incoming freshman in the country regardless of position, Underwood has understandably been a hard man to get an interview from, but when he spoke with Butt inside the Al Glick Field House, he didn’t hold back.
Butt asked Underwood what his goals were for the upcoming season, and his response echoed sentiments of confidence and humility.
“Shock the world, you know? They’ve seen a lot of freshmen, but I feel like nobody’s seen a freshman like me,” Underwood said.
When asked to expound specifically on his goals for his freshman year, Underwood, who has all but locked up the starting quarterback role heading into the season, said his job is to put the team in position to win a national championship.
“Do whatever it takes to get my team to wherever they want to be, which is a national championship,” Underwood said. “Of course, beating Ohio State is one of the other things, as well. So, however I can prepare my team like that, that’s what I’m gonna do.”
Moore will officially name a starting quarterback on Monday, but the secret is out: Underwood will be the starter next Saturday against New Mexico, and the freshman signal caller is making it his mission to prove that the hype he’s received since high school is justified.
