Former Florida Gators big, and recent free agent, Colin Castleton has reportedly found a new NBA home. According to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Castleton and the Orlando Magic agreed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal on Friday afternoon. An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary agreement that isn’t guaranteed. It can also include an optional bonus of up to $75,000 that will be rewarded if a player, after he’s waived, spends at least 60 days with a team’s G League affiliate. Exhibit 10 contracts were introduced in the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Colin Castleton has played for a few different teams as a pro

The 25-year-old flashed down the stretch of the 2024-25 season for the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 7.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 26.2 minutes per game over 11 regular-season appearances. That also included 4 starts for the Raptors. Castleton went undrafted in 2023 and spent his rookie season on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He was eventually waived by the Lakers shortly before the 2024-2025 season began. However, he was quickly scooped up by the Memphis Grizzlies on another two-way deal. He was later released by the Grizzlies in January. Castleton then spent a few months in the G League, but later inked a pair of 10-day deals with Toronto in March. As his journey continued, the Philadelphia 76ers then signed Castleton to a 10-day deal in early April.

Things began to pick up for Castleton. Toronto re-signed him to a two-year standard contract on the final day of the regular season. However, the second year was non-guaranteed. He was then cut by the team in late July. Castleton now finds himself back in his home state of Florida with this latest agreement with Orlando.

In 26 total appearances for Memphis, Philadelphia, and Toronto last season, Castleton averaged 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game.

Colin Castleton was a three-year player for the Florida Gators

Colin Castleton attended Father Lopez Catholic in Daytona Beach (Fla.) during his high school years and was a prospect in the class of 2018. He initially signed with the Michigan Wolverines, but entered the Transfer Portal after two years with the program. Castleton transferred to Florida to play for then-head coach Mike White. After his second year with the program, Castleton was leaning towards entering the NBA Draft after White was fired. However, he stayed one more year to play for now head coach Todd Golden.

That final season, Castleton earned first-team All-SEC honors from the coaches and USA Today and second-team from the AP, as well as Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today and All-Defensive Team by the coaches.
