The Milwaukee Brewers announced Jackson Chourio news before a game against the Chicago Cubs.
The Milwaukee Brewers have been on a tear in August, winning 15 of their last 16 to widen the gap in the NL Central. Milwaukee led the Chicago Cubs by nine games heading into Tuesday's action.
Milwaukee has done it without their young star center fielder, Jackson Chourio, making this run even more impressive. Chourio has not played since July 29, when he suffered a right hamstring strain.
The 21-year-old has been a force for the Brewers since his big-league debut in 2024, when he finished third in NL Rookie of the Year voting and received votes for NL MVP.
Chourio provides Gold Glove-caliber defense in the outfield and delivers an offensive boost at the top of the order. In 106 games this year, Chourio has a .276 batting average, .786 OPS, 17 home runs, 67 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
Jackson Chourio Injury Update
Chourio received a PRP injection in his strained right hamstring to accelerate the healing process after the injury was diagnosed as being more severe than initially thought.
After Chourio responded well to the injection, the Brewers’ provided an update on Tuesday.
"Brewers medical updates: Jackson Chourio is completing baserunning, hitting and defensive work without issue. Rehab assignment at Class AAA Nashville to commence on Friday," wrote Todd Rosiak of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

With Chourio Back, Brewers Look Fully Loaded for Postseason Run
This development comes at a great time for Milwaukee. Adding the young star back into the lineup will make the team even more formidable heading into October baseball.
Chourio’s signed a record-setting eight-year, $82 million contract — plus club options for 2032 and 2033 — prior to the 2024 season. It was the largest contract awarded to a player without major-league experience.
Less than two seasons in, it’s shaping up as one of the best value deals in baseball. Milwaukee has made it clear: Chourio is the centerpiece the franchise intends to build around for the next decade.
