Young Inter Milan duo Francesco Pio Esposito and Valentin Carboni have been tipped to be among the breakout performers of the Serie A season.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, identify the pair as being in the right place to shine in the Inter first team and on loan at Genoa respectively.
Inter Milan have not hidden the fact that they are hoping to build for the future. They want to focus on young player.
It is for that reason that it was not overly surprising when Inter decided to keep Francesco Pio Esposito in their first team.
There was certainly no shortage of transfer interest in Pio Esposito after his excellent season on loan with Spezia. Therefore, it seemed likely another loan was in the 20-year-old’s future.
However, after some breakout performances at the Club World Cup, Pio Esposito earned Inter’s trust.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni also impressed at the Club World Cup. Just not quite enough to feature in Inter’s first team plans.

In the view of the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, both Pio Esposito and Carboni are in the right place.
In the case of striker Pio Esposito, the feeling is that he will get his chance at Inter.
The Nerazzurri will allow the Italian to find his feet as a backup to Lautaro Martinez who provides a different kind of presence in attack.
Carboni, meanwhile, has settled in well at Genoa.
Therefore, the Gazzetta suggest, the Argentine could really show his talent in Liguria this season. A major injury may have disrupted Carboni’s growth, but now he can show that was just a bump in the road.
