Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has all but confirmed that Nicolas Jackson is on his way out of the club during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Blues bought two new strikers in the form of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer, which has relegated Jackson to be the third-choice striker at the club.

Since the Senegalese international is on the lookout for regular first-team football, he looks set to leave the club as soon as possible.

More importantly, the 24-year-old has not always been at his best for the Blues and some of his performances and his disciplinary record has left a lot to be desired.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Maresca made no attempt to hide that Jackson is not part of his plans for the club going forward.

Maresca has now stated that Jackson won’t be involved in his next Chelsea squad as something could happen for him in terms of a transfer, though he doesn’t know any of the details about it at the moment.

What Maresca said about Nicolas Jackson’s situation at Chelsea

“He (Jackson) is available, but he’s not going to be part of the squad,” Maresca said.

“As we said, we have two strikers, two players in that position, and also we know that something can happen before the window closes.”

Despite failing to cement a spot in Chelsea’s starting 11 over the last two years, Jackson has shown signs of promise and could be a decent signing for other Premier League clubs.

While it remains to be seen where the striker will end up, there seems to be plenty of interest in his signature at the moment.

Aston Villa are said to be interested in signing the striker with Jackson’s former manager at the helm at Villa Park.

A reunion with Emery could be a good idea for Jackson as the Spanish manager knows how to bring the best out of the player.
