The plan remains for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho to join Chelsea, but there’s still work to be done on the Simons deal according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have been busy this summer, and have made four summer signings in Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro.
Chelsea aren’t done there and are looking to complete deals for both Garnacho and Simons before the transfer window slams shut.
Still work to be done on Xavi Simons
Chelsea’s attack has undergone somewhat of a revamp this summer, and the Blues are said to want eight or nine attacking options in their squad to rotate between next season.
If both deals for Simons and Garnacho go through, that would be five new attackers signed in one window, not to mention the arrival of Estevao Willian, who Chelsea agreed a deal for last summer.

The Blues have been locked in negotiations with Leipzig for a number of weeks, but are yet to make an official offer, as they are trying to offload both Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson first.
The Dutchman has made it clear he wants to join Chelsea, and Tottenham reportedly made contact with Simons to see if a deal was possible, but Romano has now provided an update on the situation.
“The plan remains confirmed for both of them to go to Chelsea,” he told his YouTube channel.
“For Garnacho, the deal is happening. For Simons, there is still some work to do but Chelsea are confident to make it happen.”
Alejandro Garnacho closing in on Chelsea move
Garnacho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and the deal is said to be completely done on the player side.

Chelsea are in talks with Manchester United over a fee, with the Red Devils wanting £50m for the Argentine, but the Blues only value Garnacho at £30m.
It’s likely a compromise will be reached between the clubs, but it will be interesting to see what the final fee ends up being.
