On Thursday, Texas Tech Men’s Basketball announced their non-conference home slate for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The Red Raiders will open the season on November 4th where they will take on the Lindenwood Lions. This will be the first meeting between the two programs. Last season Lindenwood went 16-17 overall, including 10-10 in Ohio Valley Conference games.
Tech’s second game of the season will be an intrastate matchup vs the Sam Houston Bearkats. Tech and Sam Houston have played 13 times prior, most recently in the 2023-24 season where the Red Raiders won 96-60. The game is set for November 7th.
On November 14th, the Milwaukee Panthers will come to Lubbock. This will be another first-time opponent for Texas Tech. Milwaukee is coming off an excellent season in which they went 21-11, including 14-6 in Horizon League play.
The New Orleans Privateers are next on the home docket for a game set for November 26th. New Orleans is coming off an abysmal 2024-25 season, as they finished 4-27 and just 2-18 in Southland Conference play.
Up next is a rematch from last season against the Wyoming Cowboys on November 30th. Texas Tech beat Wyoming 96-49 as part of a two-game series that was scheduled after Texas Tech hired assistant coach Jeff Linder away from Wyoming, where he was head coach.
The Northern Colorado Bears are next on the Red Raiders’ home schedule as they are scheduled to head to West Texas on December 16th. Texas Tech is 5-0 against Northern Colorado all-time, including an 89-64 win a season ago.
Tech’s final non-conference home game will be against the Winthrop Eagles. The game is set for December 28th. Texas Tech fans might remember Winthrop as being the school that former standout player and fan favorite Adonis Arms was at before he chose to be a Red Raider.
Along with these home games, Texas Tech has a loaded non-conference schedule away from home, with games at Illinois, vs Wake Forest (in the Bahamas), vs Memphis or Purdue (in the Bahamas) and vs LSU (in Fort Worth) already on the schedule. Tech is also expected to play Duke in New York and Arkansas in Dallas, with those games yet to be officially announced.
