New York Giants rookie TJ Moore was carted off the field Thursday night after a gruesome leg injury. He got hurt in the final minutes of the preseason finale against the New England Patriots and was having a huge showing.

Moore was playing in the secondary when his leg appeared to twist on the turf at MetLife Stadium. His teammates surrounded him as he got onto the cart, and he gave a thumbs-up to the crowd as he headed toward the locker room.

Moore was in the midst of a big game in Thursday’s final preseason game. He had three total tackles and a 44-yard pick-six as he looks to make an impression on the Giants and secure a spot on the roster.

The Giants signed TJ Moore as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft, and he entered Thursday with eight total tackles so far in the preseason. He earned an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, and NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote Moore has versatility to play in both man and zone coverages. However, he would need some development.

“Moore’s 2024 ball production and pro-day testing are eye-catching, but there are highs and lows on tape,” Zierlein wrote. “He has agile, quick feet and is smooth with his transitions in coverage. He looked solid for most of the game against Alabama last season, but he had an issue finding and playing a deep ball late in the contest.

“That same issue pops up in other games. He has the ability to play in man or zone and should get a chance in camp, but he will need to upgrade his physicality or take more chances in coverage to make a team.”

New York went on to get the resounding 42-10 victory in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Patriots. Jaxson Dart continued his strong showing through the preseason, going 6-of-12 for 81 yards and a touchdown on Thursday. All told, across the three games, he went 32-for-47 for 372 yards and three touchdowns in the air while also adding a rushing touchdown.

The expectation is Dart will be the third quarterback on the Giants’ roster behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Winston also played Thursday, throwing for 47 yards and a touchdown. But the former Ole Miss star has made a strong impression through training camp and into preseason, setting a strong foundation for his rookie season in New York.
