Florida State is just over a week away from taking on Alabama, and the Seminoles might be the same amount of time away from getting their next commitment.
Three-star wide receiver Jonah Winston, the younger brother of Florida State Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, announced in an interview with Hall-Tech on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he will be making his commitment on Aug. 30.
Winston has multiple Power Four offers, including Florida State and Arkansas. However, he only posted two of the official offers on social media when all programs mailed them out earlier this month — they were from FSU and Buffalo.
The three-star recruit also told Warchant he plans to be in Tallahassee on Aug. 30 when Florida State takes on Alabama.
Overall, Winston’s recruitment has been very quiet. He has not taken many visits, and he has yet to take an official. His last visit, according to Rivals and his Twitter account, was to Auburn last November.
The last time the Hoover High standout was in Tallahassee, at least in the public eye, was in 2023 for the Northern Alabama game, when Florida State retired the older Winston’s jersey. Prior to that, he was on campus for Legacy Weekend, which was when Florida State coach Mike Norvell offered him a scholarship.
