The Indiana Fever delivered their biggest comeback in franchise history on Sunday, rallying from a 21-point deficit to defeat the Connecticut Sun. Kelsey Mitchell led the charge with 38 points, sparking a much-needed victory for a team fighting to keep its playoff hopes alive.
The win came despite Caitlin Clark missing her 13th straight game with a groin injury and Sophie Cunningham leaving in the second half with a knee issue after just 10 minutes of play. While Indiana fans have been buzzing about the big win, an error related to head coach Stephanie White has drawn attention on social media.
Fans Notice Big Stephanie White Error During Indiana Fever Game
Heading into Sunday’s game, attendees were handed posters listing the Fever’s roster. However, fans noticed a glaring mistake on the flier, which listed Sandy Brondello—current head coach of the New York Liberty—as the Fever’s head coach instead of White.
Images of the misprint made their way to social media, and it did not take long for Fever fans to react to the mix-up with humor.

“I knew we were spread thin, but I didn’t realize it was also the coaching staff 😂,” one fan joked.
“Wow I guess it’s free for a reason lol,” another fan remarked.
“How does such a glaring error make it to print?” another fan questioned
Others fantasized about Brondello as the Fever’s head coach:
“Can’t wait to see Coach Sandy in action for the Fever! 😭😭😭😭😭,” one fan posted.
“May the spirit of Brondello possess Steph White today 🙏,” said another.
Brondello is one of the most decorated coaches in the WNBA, having guided the Phoenix Mercury to a championship in 2014 and leading the Liberty to their first-ever title in 2024. She also recently coached the WNBA All-Star Game in July.
Indiana Fever Set for Tough Challenge Against Minnesota Lynx
While the Fever managed to scrap out a win on the road, the team’s postseason push remains fragile. Indiana heads into its next contest against the No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx possibly without Clark and Cunningham, and a loss could put a dent into their recent momentum following the OT victory on Sunday.
Clark averages 16.5 points and 8.8 assists this season, while Sophie Cunningham has registered 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Their potential absence could put pressure on Mitchell and the rest of the roster to carry the load.
With only a handful of games left, every win matters in the battle for playoff seeding. White will be tasked with keeping the group steady as Indiana looks to finish strong.
