The high school offseason featured significant movement across the country, as several high-profile players found new homes and opportunities on different teams. While some programs reloaded, others experienced a facelift, and some of those are expected to contend for championships thanks to their new additions. With the season underway in a few states and fast approaching in others, it’s time to highlight some of the most impactful players who switched schools and should make an immediate impact. Here is our preseason All-Transfer team.

QB Michael Johnson, Douglas County (Ga.)

Many believe that Douglas Countywas a quarterback away from winning it all in Georgia’s Class 6A classification last year. Johnson comes in from Dutchtown as possibly the difference for the Tigers this fall. The Utah commit threw for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns playing for the Bulldogs in 2024.

RB Tranard Roberts, The Villages (Fla.)

Playing for IMG Academy in 2024, Roberts carried the rock 42 times for 300 yards and found the endzone four times. As a freshman the year before at Williston, Roberts carried the ball 33 times for 409 yards and scored seven touchdowns in 2023. Now atThe Villages, Roberts makes the Buffalo a dangerous team in Florida’s Class 2A.

WR Kahlil Taylor, Pine-Richland (Pa.)

Taylorarrives at Pine-Richland from Seton LaSalle as one of the state’s top players and pairs with junior junior quarterback Aaron Strader Jr., who threw for 1,755 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024. The Rivals Industry Rankings, an equally weighted formula that utilizes the three major recruiting services, also ranks him highly at No. 50 overall, ninth at receiver and fourth overall in Pennsylvania.

WR Ty Johnson, Crean Lutheran (Ca.)

Coming from the Lone Star State and playing for Lampasas, Johnson joins aCrean Lutheranteam that’s quickly becoming a force in California. As a sophomore, Johnson caught 68 passes for 1,046 yards and scored 12 touchdowns last year.

WR Tyree Manning Jr., Venice (Fla.)

Manning, a four-star sophomore, looks to be the all-everything for the defending Class 7A champion Venice. Last season at Sarasota Booker, who reached the Florida’s Class 3A state semifinals, Manning caught 35 passes for 838 yards and seven touchdowns.

ATH Myson Johnson-Cook, East St. Louis (Ill.)

The four-star junior should help provide another punch on the offensive side of the ball for East St. Louis, which is ranked No. 27 in the nation by the Rivals High School Football Composite Rankings. In 2024, Johnson-Cook rushed for 911 yards on 88 carries (10.4 yards per carry) and scored 14 touchdowns for DeSoto (Texas).

OT Johnnie Jones, Venice (Fla.)

Jones transferred from Berkeley Prep to play for four-time state champion Venice. The 6-foot-6, 308-pound four-star UCLA commit is ranked No. 131 nationally and No. 18 in Florida. The future Bruin was part of Berkeley Prep’s 2023 Class 2M state championship team.

OG Da’Ron Parks, Nitro (W.Va.)

Parks is the No. 399 overall recruit in the 2026 Rivals Industry Rankings and now No. 1 ranked prospect in all of West Virginia playing for Nitro. The 6-foot-4 and 360-pound Florida State commit was a top-75 player in Florida for Cardinal Mooney and helped pave the way for a Cougars’ offense that rushed for 3,999 yards on the ground.

Brandon Bevilacqua, Mount Pleasant (N.C.)

The 6-foot-2, 305-pound center was previously at Central Cabarrus before transferring over to play at Mount Pleasant for the 2025 season. Bevilacqua earned all-conference honors last season and has already committed to play at Catawba College after his high school playing days are over.

OG Jakobe Green, Gadsden County (Fla.)

The 2026 three-star Florida State commitment is the second future Seminole on this list that plays offensive line. Green was at Niceville, a Class 5A state semifinalist last year, before transferring to Gadsden County during the off-season. Per the Rivals Industry Rankings, the guard is ranked No. 85 in Florida and No. 75 among all interior offensive linemen.

OT Charlie Thom, Avon Old Farms (Conn.)

Thom was the anchor to Darien‘s offensive line before transferring to prep schoolAvon Old Farms. Last season playing for the Blue Wave, the three-star Notre Dame commitment led the way for a Darien offense that compiled well over 4,300 yards in 2024.

EDGE Zyron Forstall, IMG Academy (Fla.)

The five-star edge rusher announced back in mid-July that he was leaving New Orleans Jesuit and transferring to IMG Academy, the No. 6-ranked team in the Rivals High School Composite Rankings. Forstall is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, only behind Benedictine Military School‘s LaDamion Guyton.

DL James Johnson, Miami Northwestern (Fla.)

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive tackle is committed to Texas and will be a force in the Miami Northwestern‘s defensive interior. Johnson last season for North Fort Myers totaled 60 tackles, 29 for a loss and five sacks. The four-star joins one of the best defenses in all of Florida.

DL James Carrington, Crean Lutheran (Ca.)

Carrington, an Oklahoma commitment, is the second player on this list that left his old school to transfer into Crean Lutheran, which looks to be in line to being a power in the Golden State this fall. Last season, Carrington played for Nevada powerhouse Bishop Gorman and prior to that was at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and St. Frances Academy, respectively.

EDGE Dre Quinn, Buford (Ga.)

Quinn joins a stout Buford Wolves’ defensive front seven unit that already features several Power Four talents. Last season at Greater Atlanta Christian , Quinn compiled 42 total tackles, including 9.5 for a loss, adding 2.5 sacks. High school football fans got a first look at Quinn in a Buford uniform last week against Milton.

LB DQ Forkpa, St. Frances Academy (Md.)

One of the East Coast’s top 2026 linebackers transferred to No. 4-ranked St. Frances Academy from IMG Academy, joining a very formidable Panthers’ front seven. At Mill Creek (Ga.), Forkpa had his 2024 season cut short due to injuries but still was able to tally 22 tackles, two for loss and three pass deflections in six contests.

LB Mike Davis Jr., Mater Dei (Ca.)

Davis Jr. was one of the Golden State’s top sophomore linebackers from a year ago, recording 51 tackles, four for a loss and intercepted three passes for Aquinas (Calif.). The 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker transferred into nationally top-ranked Mater Dei this off-season.

LB Miles Khatri, Pike Road (Ala.)

We head over to the Yellowhammer State for this transfer as Khatri, a West Virginia commitment, left 2024 Class 5A state champion Montgomery Catholic Preparatory for Pike Road this season. The senior totaled 117 tackles, 14 going for a loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles last season.

CB Brandon Lockhart, Sierra Canyon (Ca.)

Lockhart was a locked down presence at cornerback at Loyola last season before transferring over to Sierra Canyon during the offseason. The four-star USC commitment in 2024 through 10 games totaled 42 tackles, picked off five passes and recorded two fumble recoveries.

CB T’ari Miller, Miami Central (Fla.)

Miller played for Homestead during the 2024 season, notching 12 tackles, two interceptions and batting away three passes before he eventually landed atMiami Central. The four-star cornerback has a multitude of offers on the table, including Michigan StateMississippi StateNorth CarolinaUSF and Western Michigan

Micah Bright, William Amos Hough (N.C.)

The USF commitment transferred to William Amos Hough from Cox Mill, establishing himself as one of the Tar Heel State’s top defensive backs. Last season, the three-star safety recorded 65 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss, three picks, broke up nine passes and recovered three fumbles.

Tay Lockett, Conway (Ark.)

Lockett comes to Conway ranked as the No. 9 player in Arkansas and No. 66 nationally at safety, per the Rivals Industry Rankings. Last year at the University Clay (Calif.), the four-star was a force on offense and defense, with the future Razorback collecting 107 tackles, batting away five passes and picking off two others.
