WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Notre Dame has a top returning secondary and a new coordinator in Chris Ash … and today we’re doing a film study based on the coordinator’s last stop showing what Carson Beck will need to deal with. Don’t miss that deep dive.

Mario Cristobal also shares his thoughts on this Canes team with the opener coming up fast.

In recruiting?

This weekend’s Broward County High School National Football Showcase could arguably be the most loaded showcase we’ve had in my three years covering Miami Hurricanes recruiting for CaneSport. We break down the Miami targets fans should keep an eye on.

Also check out our coach’s take on recent 2027 Cardinal Gibbon (Fla.) commit DeMarcus DeRoche, looking at what he brings to the table for the Canes.

IMG Academy 2027 top-30 receiver Osani Gayles has locked in a visit to Miami for the Hurricanes’ season opener against Notre Dame Aug. 31. We catch up with him.

Plus check out what Fontana (Calif.) Bishop Montgomery top-50 defensive lineman George Toia is saying, as Miami’s chasing him.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

What will you consider a successful year? … Posted by o_CANE1983

1) must beat the Gators and Noles
2) 10 wins
3) CFP Appearance or ACCCG loss
4) No more than 1 loss in November

I need all 4 of those to happen for it to be successful. Only way I can budge on Gator loss would be if we go 12-1 winning the ACC.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

(Seth Clarin Photography)

“We feel pretty good about the things we do well, what we have to work on. Some guys are definitely ready, some have hiccups under the lights, and that’s alright. Still developing (with those guys). … You continue to enhance the ones that have done really well, set your goals offensively, defensively, special teams-wise, figure out what you do well.”
