Angel Reese took some time away from basketball on Saturday night to go out on what she has labeled a “date night.” The 23-year-old has missed the last seven games for the Chicago Sky due to a lingering back injury and, unfortunately, Reese has no timetable for her return as of yet.
The two-time All-Star stepped out on Saturday night to attend UFC 319 at United Center in Chicago. The highly anticipated event was headlined by a middleweight title bout between the champion, Dricus du Plessis, and the challenger, Khamzat Chimaev.
It was Chimaev who dominated the five-round title fight to score a lopsided decision. Chimaev, who showcased his elite grappling to improve to 15-0-0, is now the new UFC middleweight champion after his outstanding performance.
Reese appeared to enjoy the show, but the Sky star did say on social media that the UFC was “SCARY.” However, what piqued the interest of the fans was who Reese’s plus-one was for her date night.
The former LSU star made a couple of posts via her Instagram stories during the event. She captioned her video as “date night.”

At one point in the clip, Reese’s camera caught her male companion, who was wearing a gray jacket. His face was not seen in the video, though.
While Reese did not reveal who she was with during her date night, fans on social media are adamant that her companion was Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr.
"I swear that’s Wendell Carter jr," a comment on X read.
"I’m watching this UFC fight & I see Wendell Carter & Angel Reese posted 😂" a user claimed.
"Wendell Carter jr," a reaction read.
"Was that not Angel Reese and Wendell Carter ?" confirmed a fan.
"Angel Reese is at the UFC fights with Wendell Carter. Need the *damn* drop because she’s looking good," another said.
This is not the first time Carter and Reese have been linked. Most notably, the 26-year-old center attended the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis to support Reese. Carter was seen wearing a Reese shirt, and the two even posed for the cameras together during the event.
It is worth noting that Reese watched multiple Magic games last season, and there were also rumors that Carter attended Reese's 23rd birthday party back in May.
Neither Reese nor Carter has confirmed their relationship, but it would not be a complete surprise if these two hard launched their romance on social media in the not-so-distant future, especially if it was, indeed, Carter who was Reese's date for UFC 319.
