Legendary Miami player Devin Hester is hoping to one day see his kids play football. The first opportunity for his son, Drayton, recently came from a familiar school. Drayton Hester received a FaceTime from Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal, with an offer being extended.
Hester posted a video of the conversation on Instagram. Given that he is a member of the class of 2031, there is a long way to go in the process. But when the time comes to make a college decision, Cristobal is going to be all-in on landing the legacy.
“No. 1, congratulations on busting your butt and doing all the things that you’ve been doing at such a young age,” Cristobal said. “I know you guys have got a big game coming up but I wanted to call you myself and let you know, face to face, man to man, that we’re offering you a scholarship to Miami and we would love you to be a Miami Hurricane… You are that guy. I’m going to recruit you like an absolute madman and I want you to lead the class when it’s your time.”
